We’re excited to give you an insight into our new and improved onboarding programme! Since February, we have launched our new revised concept to ensure that new team members have a great start with us – even in times of increased remote working.
Two Welcome Days at the headquarters in Cologne
Our onboarding starts with two Welcome Days at our headquarters in Cologne. Here we want to ensure that our new colleagues feel our personal connectedness and our corporate culture right from the start. These days are designed to allow you to really ‘’settle in‘’ with us and experience the company’s shared values first-hand.
First Welcome Day: administrative matters and daily business
On your first Welcome Day, you will receive all the important administrative information you need for your day-to-day work. Here you will find out what our HR software looks like, where you can request absences, where you can find all the relevant information about the company, how to book your business trips and much more. The aim is for you to find your way around quickly and easily.
Second Welcome Day: The company, our strategy and our values
On the second Welcome Day, you will get a more comprehensive introduction into our company. We will introduce you to our strategy, our values and some CSR topics. You will also have the opportunity to talk directly to our CEO Mark at our ‘Meet Mark’ Q&A session and quiz him with any questions you may have.
Individual onboarding in your team
After these first two days, your individual onboarding in your team will begin. Here you will be familiarized step by step with your specific tasks and get to know your new colleagues.
Culture Buddies: Support right from the start
To make your start with us even more enjoyable, we offer a buddy programme. If requested, we’ll be happy to assign you a culture buddy, an experienced co-worker who is not part of your team. This gives you the opportunity to get to know your new workplace from a different perspective and to network directly within the company.
Here’s what our employees have to say about the onboarding process
“What’s special about the onboarding programme at meinestadt.de is that it started before my first official day at work. The journey to the Cologne office and overnight stays were organized in advance by my colleagues, so I didn’t have to worry about anything else. They also discussed a rough overview of my onboarding plan with me so that I could get a rough idea of what to expect in the first few weeks. The onboarding starts on site as part of the Welcome Days, where you get your first insights from the People & Culture team. My laptop was also set up and I already had access to all the relevant tools and folders. From the very beginning, I felt appreciated as a team member at meinestadt.de and was also able to experience how the value #together is lived out in our daily interactions.“
– Julia Fuchs, Lead Customer Success at meinestadt.de
“From the very first conversation with meinestadt.de, I was impressed by the open and sincere communication. In my first few days, I was given a warm welcome with the so-called ‘Welcome Days’ and learnt the most important facts about the company straight away. This included the ‘candid’ communication, which I have now learnt is one of the company’s core values. This appreciative atmosphere and the trust that was placed in me right from the start motivate me every day to give my best and actively contribute to the further development of the company. I am proud to be part of such a transparent and authentic team.”
– Selina Weidenfeld, Performance Marketing Manager at meinestadt.de
